Directed by Brittany King, Act One: Standards & Survival is an immersive, one-woman show starring formally trained actress & vocalist Marlo Vashti. Far from a standard tribute concert, Marlo Vashti breathes life into the spirits of Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Ella Fitzgerald, fully embodying each legendary figure on stage.

Accompanied by a live jazz band, experience seamless transitions between these iconic women's’ stories. Bringing their distinct voices, physicalities, and classic music to the stage with theatrical precision. Step into their private worlds to hear their unfiltered opinions, untold struggles, and fierce dreams in their own words. This production is an educational journey that honors history, celebrates legacy, and offers a deeply intimate and creative encounter with the women who paved the way for music globally.
