The Deering Quartet presents four masterworks for string quartet by women composers from across the Black diaspora. Immerse yourself in the powerful and provocative compositional styles of Jessie Montgomery, Florence Price, Tania León, and Eleanor Alberga. From seldom performed gems of the twentieth century to popular staples in the modern canon, this evening will showcase a thrilling range of music that spans the course of the last hundred years. This concert is perfect for anyone with a love of classical music and a desire to delve deeper.

This concert is approximately 90 minutes long.

This project is presented in partnership with Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater and it is made possible with support from The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation at The Miami Foundation and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor, and Board of County Commissioners.
