Sous-sous is an intergenerational  multidisciplinary artistic work that integrates storytelling, movement/dance, live music, film, and bottle tree installation. The work follows the journey of an eight-year-old girl accused of being a witch as she discovers the power of her thoughts, inherited knowledge systems, and her connection to the Earth. Through movement, song, childhood games and sacred ecology, the evening explores water, land, trees, environmental justice and community. The evening will also include excerpts of RoseWater (2021) and Kahina: A Tangled Root (2014) with Guest performance from Miami Dade College’s Jubilation Dance Ensemble featuring work by Maleek Washington, and Angelina Labete. 

This project is presented in partnership with Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater and it is made possible with support from The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation at The Miami Foundation and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor, and Board of County Commissioners.
