Brévo Theatre Presents: Black Nativity

Black Nativity is an African-American telling of the Nativity story, based on the Song Play written by acclaimed African-American poet and playwright Langston Hughes. The show recreates the journey of Mary and Joseph, resplendent in African costumes, to Bethlehem, accompanied by a rousing repertoire of spirituals. The combined African-American viewpoint and gospel music make Black Nativity a truly unique and entertaining theatrical experience.


This program is a Cultural Arts Partnership with the Fantasy Theatre Factory, additionally partnered with the Warten Foundation, and supported by the Broward Center, Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs, and Miami Dade County Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council.

Fresh off a TV pilot filmed for FX, TJ is back on the road with new jokes about love, death, grief, and immigration. Come for the same fresh, incisive, and caustic wit, stay for the poetry of laughter to be found within the darkest of subjects.


The Alien Everywhere is TJ’s third standup tour. Following successful stints in North America and Europe, he’s ready to go again and bring jokes from the singular Haitian perspective to the rest of the English speaking world. He’s also planning to add a few more countries, and even continents to this one. He hopes to see you in a room, wherever in the world you live, laughing together at everything.

Bio: TJ is a Haitian born stand-up comedian who is currently based in New York City. TJ has a very laid back, smooth, and conversational style. He jokes about race, society’s idiosyncrasies, and the inherent contrast between life in Haiti and America. He has made appearances on Gotham Comedy Live (AXS TV) and Good Day New York (FOX).


TJ is a paid regular at the Comedy Cellar and Gotham Comedy Club in NYC. He has performed all over the world. He recently returned from a small European tour where he performed in English and French.


He has opened for Colin Quinn, Janelle James, Maria Bamford and Sean Patton. He has also been a featured performer at numerous festivals like Netflix Is A Joke Festival, SF Sketchfest and the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival.

About Francisco:

Francisco Ramos stars in the feature film The Unexpecteds, executive produced by Kevin Smith. He’s been featured on Netflix’s Gentefied and Hulu’s This Fool, and directed, co-wrote, and starred in his debut comedy short Zoo Animals, now streaming on HBO Max.


Francisco has filmed two stand-up specials—Veenezuela’Merican, produced by Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), and HBO’s Entre Nos. A top 10 finalist on Last Comic Standing, he continues to tour nationwide, bringing his unique voice to comedy clubs and theaters across North America.


His TV and film credits include Showtime’s Shameless, Steve Carell’s Angie Tribeca, Netflix’s Lady Dynamite, Comedy Central’s @midnight, multiple appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and voicing Marmoset in the animated hit Rio and Cartoon Network’s Victor and Valentino.
