Peter and the Wolf: An Introduction to the String Quartet

The Deering Quartet presents the world premiere of 'Peter and the Wolf: An Introduction to the String Quartet' in collaboration with the award-winning percussionist and arranger, Dr. Robert Chapman. This new and exciting version of Sergei Prokofiev's classic orchestral work will feature both narration and percussion alongside the Deering Quartet's classic string quartet sound. Each instrument has its own role to play as we wander through the magical musical story of Peter and his animal friends as they outwit the big, bad wolf. This concert is ideal for families with young children who enjoy music- especially if they may like to learn an instrument one day!

This concert is approximately 60 minutes long.

This project is presented in partnership with Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater and it is made possible with support from The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation at The Miami Foundation and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor, and Board of County Commissioners.
