VIDA FEST

ALL FESTIVAL PASSES allow you access to any and all of the activities August 6 through August 9. Patrons who purchase festival passes will receive one (1) ticket to NOCHE DE VIDA on August 9th at 6:30PM. Lobby doors open to your guests at 5:30PM.


VIDA Fest is a four-day celebration of movement, music, culture, and community that brings together artists de aquí y de allá to learn, create, and connect through shared artistic experiences. Produced by Carne Viva Dance Theatre, the festival is rooted in the belief that dance is a powerful tool for storytelling, cultural preservation, and collective liberation. VIDA Fest creates an inclusive and welcoming environment where emerging and established artists can deepen their practice, exchange ideas, and build lasting relationships across disciplines and communities.

Throughout the festival, participants engage in open dance classes, artist-led workshops, panel discussions, and a choreographic lab designed to encourage experimentation, collaboration, and creative risk-taking. Classes highlight a range of movement practices, with a focus on Afro-Caribbean and Latin American dance traditions while celebrating the diverse influences each artist brings into the space. Beyond technical training, VIDA Fest emphasizes dialogue, mentorship, and the sharing of lived experiences, recognizing that learning happens both inside and outside the studio.

The festival culminates in an evening of live performances that showcase new works developed during the festival alongside performances by invited guest artists and Carne Viva Dance Theatre. More than a performance series, VIDA Fest is an invitation to gather, celebrate, and imagine together. It serves as a platform for cultural exchange, artistic innovation, and community building, empowering participants to return to their own communities inspired, connected, and equipped with new tools for creative expression. Through movement, music, and meaningful conversation, VIDA Fest nurtures a vibrant network of artists committed to creating work that is rooted in joy, curiosity, and collective care.


Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and available to actively participate in the lab.
